Hill Group has once again achieved five-star housebuilder status with the Home Builders Federation (HBF), in results released this week.  The accolade means that, for the fourth year in a row, over 90 per cent of Hill’s purchasers who completed the HBF’s National New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey would recommend the housebuilder to a friend.

The five-star status is much sought after in the construction industry and places Hill among the elite in the UK’s housebuilding world. These high standards are exhibited at developments across Cambridgeshire including Marleigh, Knight’s Park, Ironworks and Timber Works, all located in Cambridge, 125 Cambridge Road in Great Shelford and Meridian Fields in Hardwick.

Demonstrating the company’s passion to create exceptional homes and deliver outstanding customer service, this accolade follows an award-winning year for Hill. These include Housebuilder of the Year Award and Best Development at the WhatHouse? 2020, Medium Housebuilder of The Year at the Housebuilder Awards 2020, and the Grand Prix award at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2020 for Fish Island Village in Hackney Wick, in partnership with Peabody.

Group Head of Customer Service, Amelia Selleck comments: “We are delighted to have retained our 5* rating in the Home Builders Federation customer satisfaction survey for the fourth year in a row.   Achieving this success has been challenging in a year of turmoil, but we have done everything possible to ensure our customers could continue with their home-buying journeys using a variety of digital alternatives and offering as much support as we could to minimise house buying, which can be stressful at the best of times for people.”

The HBF is the principle representative body for private sector home builders and voice of the home building industry in England and Wales. The survey is one of the largest of its type and demonstrates the industry’s commitment to delivering an excellent level of customer service.

Amelia continues: “We have a business-wide focus on driving build quality standards up and enhancing the customer experience at every stage of the purchase.  Our intense focus on quality and going above and beyond for our customers on a daily basis has secured us this title for another year.  I couldn’t be prouder of my team, and of the whole Hill Group who strive to make this happen.”

Stewart Baseley, executive chairman at the Home Builders Federation said; “The survey demonstrates that the industry is delivering an excellent level of service in the opinion of over 90% of its customers. The fact that we have seen four successive years of improved satisfaction levels shows the clear focus builders have been putting on the customer. That this level of satisfaction has been delivered during a pandemic that saw sites closed and builders unable to access homes for a period makes it even more of an achievement. The industry remains committed to maintaining the significant progress of recent years and fully supports moves to put an independent New Homes Ombudsman in place to strengthen customer protections and continue to drive up standards. To achieve a 5 star rating, meaning that at least 90% of your customers would recommend you, is a fantastic achievement that requires commitment from everyone within the organisation.”

The HBF star rating has become the leading indicator for success in the new homes industry since it was introduced in 2005. 206 people completed the survey to rate their new Hill home this year, resulting in the housebuilder’s retention of its five-star status.
