The intricate craftsmanship of marquetry has been given a new lease of life with an innovative new solution from Marq, a bespoke service for designers and architects keen to incorporate their client’s own design ideas into their environment.
Marq has launched a new concept in the manufacture of decorative, distinctive, and practical marquetry. The firm has developed a unique process of creating marquetry panels using contemporary and classic design which is brought to life using the finest materials and crafted by skilled artisans.
Tim Venables, owner of Marq and skilled woodwork technician comments: “Marquetry is an amazing arts and crafts skill. Through our ground-breaking technique of applying marquetry design into panels we can provide a fully bespoke service from design concept to final application.”
Traditionally, marquetry is created as part of a piece of furniture which is often expensive and hard to source. With Marq panels, designers now have access to cost-effective marquetry with a simple application to any item they choose – ideal for creating bespoke pieces of furniture or tying a brand into its environment. Three collections have been launched by Marq, including ‘The Expressive’ range created by ex-Liberty designer Keighley Clay. All collections can be modified and adapted to suit your client’s dimensions and colour palette.
Practical, versatile and robust, Marq panels offer the homes, furnishing and interiors sectors the opportunity to create truly unique residential and commercial schemes.
Tim continues: “Our bespoke design service allows brands to replicate their own style throughout a property, office or hospitality environment. Logos, imagery and pattern can be replicated into bespoke, easy to apply panels.”
Marq panels come in three options and can be paper backed, aluminium backed or fully finished in matt, satin or gloss and aluminium backed.
