The awards keep coming for one of the UK’s leading property development and construction companies as Anderson celebrates another win – this time for their part in the Quarry project in Erith, south-east London.

Anderson scooped Best Regeneration Initiative at this year’s Housebuilder Awards for the Quarry project, a partnership with L&Q.

It will see 849 new homes being built on a disused 50‐acre quarry site, including a large state-of-the-art primary school, ecology park and commercial space.

Glenn Potter, Managing Director – Development, said the Anderson team were delighted that the innovative project had caught the judges’ eyes.

He said: “We’re really proud of our involvement in the regeneration of the Quarry site, and it’s a real honour to receive this national recognition for such a special project.

“This is the largest single-scheme programme of its kind in the South East, breathing new life in the once-derelict 50-acre site, which will become a true asset to the community.

“Along with our partners, L&Q, we are using our joint expertise to deliver on a site previously considered undevelopable. This award is testament to the hard work, innovation and dedication of the whole team.”

Neil Davis, Director of Delivery at L&Q, said: “We are very pleased to have been recognised for Best Regeneration Initiative at the Housebuilder Awards for The Quarry. This is an ambitious development and an example of exceptional partnership working between L&Q and Andersons, based on a shared commitment to quality and placemaking.

“The disused Erith Quarry was once considered too difficult to redevelop, but our progress transforming the site into a new eco-development is clear to see.

“Once completed, the Quarry will deliver hundreds of new and affordable homes, open spaces, a new primary school, community facilities and ecological areas. With the first residents already calling the Quarry home, it’s been fantastic to see this neighbourhood coming to life.”

Anderson was also a finalist in the Subcontractor of the Year award.

Recent projects have included a Redrow Homes development in Witham, Essex, which included the delivery of a technically challenging Section 278 public highway package, and a Hopkins Homes development in Needham Market, Suffolk, which featured groundworks, associated external works and infrastructure.

Steve Howe, Managing Director – Construction, said: “It’s fantastic to reach the finals and be recognised for providing high-quality services to most of the UK’s largest housebuilders.

“We have an industry-renowned reputation for safety, quality and delivery and in terms of innovation in service and work delivered.

“It’s great news that we have been nationally recognised for this. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners.”

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 24 November at the InterContinental London, at the O2.
