One of the UK’s leading wet civil engineering firms, Land & Water, has extended its offering to the North of England as it opens up a new regional hub in Newcastle upon Tyne as part of a continued period of growth.
The new hub, which opened this month and will become Land & Water’s eighth location in the UK, coincides with the firm securing major contracts throughout the region including a framework contract with the Environment Agency to carry out a range of works such as vegetation clearance.
Land & Water’s Construction Director, Kevin Kirkland, says: “Opening up our northern hub is incredibly significant for Land & Water as it show our commitment to North East development, maintaining and enhancing the UK’s waterways for years to come.
“We are extremely proud to be cementing ourselves as one of the leading wet civil engineering firms in the North.”
The expansion to North East England comes at a successful period of growth for Land & Water as it continues to work on major projects across the UK, bring in new team members and harness sustainable solutions.
Andy McBride, Land & Water’s Contracts Manager (Marine Civils) and ‘local lad’ said, “These are hugely exiting times for the North East of England and Land & Water, with a large amount of investment planned and in place for the regions Ports and Marine Infrastructure.
“We look forward to supporting our existing clients in the area, but also cementing our presence in the North and working with new clients and suppliers alike.”
The firm has recently committed towards using HVO fuel on all of its projects, which is up to 90+% net carbon neutral and fully biodegradable, as part of its pledge to become carbon net zero by 2030.
